Enrique Sanchez is the Managing Partner and founder of E.G. Sanchez & Associates, CPAs. A graduate of the University of San Diego, he brings over two decades of public accounting experience with deep expertise in real estate, construction, manufacturing, and internet taxation.
Before founding the firm in 2006, Enrique honed his skills at several prominent San Diego and Temecula-area firms, including Considine and Considine, Peterson & Co, and Swenson Advisors. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive knowledge in tax planning strategies, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and business consulting—serving both privately held businesses and publicly traded companies.
Today, Enrique leads E.G. Sanchez & Associates as an all-encompassing business advisory firm, combining best-in-class tax expertise with a consulting approach that sets the firm apart.
Outside of work, Enrique enjoys spending time with his wife, Helen, and their three children—Chasyte, Zachary, and Ryan. He loves watching movies, traveling, weightlifting, jogging, and enjoying a good glass of wine.
Brian Mendez is an Audit & Accounting Partner at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, bringing nearly two decades of public accounting experience. A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Business Economics with an emphasis in Accounting, Brian transitioned to public accounting in 2006 after beginning his career in financial planning with a mid-size wealth management firm.
Brian has extensive audit experience spanning both publicly and privately held companies, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. His industry expertise includes technology, manufacturing, oil and gas, retail, construction, contracting, and non-profit organizations. On the consulting side, he specializes in forensic accounting, litigation support, expert testimony, and internal controls evaluation.
Brian is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner, and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time with his family and hitting the golf course.
Sheryl Bruens is a Business Advisory Manager at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, specializing in PGS, forecasting, business advisory, entity structuring, and tax planning. With a comprehensive approach to financial strategy, she partners with clients to navigate complex business decisions and optimize their financial outcomes. Sheryl is known for her ability to translate intricate tax and structuring concepts into actionable plans that support long-term growth and stability.
Outside of work, Sheryl enjoys spending time with her husband, Lee, and their daughter, Avery. A devoted Detroit Lions fan, she’s ride or die for her team on game days. She also enjoys attending concerts, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and unwinding with a spa day or shopping trip.
Tim Peet is a Tax Manager at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, bringing more than 20 years of public accounting experience to the firm. He holds a Master of Science in Taxation and is an Enrolled Agent, credentials that anchor a practice built on tax compliance, planning, and advisory work for individuals and businesses alike.
Two decades in public accounting have given Tim a deep command of the tax code and a practical sense for how it applies to real-world client situations. He helps clients look ahead rather than react at year-end, turning complex tax rules into clear, actionable strategies that support their long-term goals.
Michael Hoover is Director of Business Strategy at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, bringing more than 25 years of experience in commercial banking and middle-market business advisory. He works with business owners and referral partners to identify advisory opportunities and align business goals with practical financial and operational solutions, and is a graduate of San Diego State University.
Before joining the firm, Michael held senior commercial banking leadership roles, including Senior Commercial Relationship Manager, where he managed a commercial portfolio exceeding $150 million and advised clients on financing structures, cash flow optimization, deposit strategy, and expansion initiatives. That background gives him a banker’s read on what makes a business financeable and a lender’s view of the decisions owners face — a perspective that translates directly into growth planning, capital strategy, and long-term value creation for the firm’s clients.
Outside the office, Michael enjoys spending time with his family.
Vanessa White is a Senior Tax Supervisor with more than 20 years of experience in tax and consulting within public accounting. She serves a diverse range of clients across various industries, bringing depth and adaptability to every engagement. A proud Army veteran, Vanessa pursued her accounting degree and career in public accounting after her military service—a transition that reflects her discipline, dedication, and drive for continuous growth.
Outside of work, Vanessa is an avid traveler who enjoys exploring destinations both near and far, whether domestically or internationally. A self-described foodie, she’s always on the hunt for her next great meal. With her twins now grown, Vanessa made the move to the beach—embracing a well-earned change of scenery.
Jaid Nabi is a Senior Business Strategist at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, bringing over 17 years of accounting, audit, and tax experience across public accounting, private industry, and government sectors. He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from California State University, Long Beach, and specializes in financial statement analysis, tax planning, and strategic business advisory services.
Prior to joining the firm, Jaid served as an Internal Revenue Agent with the IRS Small Business/Self-Employed division and as a Tax Auditor for the California Franchise Tax Board. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at CSULB, teaching Federal Tax Law and Managerial Accounting.
Outside of work, Jaid enjoys spending time with his family and contributing to professional education initiatives.
Josh Quezada is a Senior Accountant working within the firm’s assurance department at E.G. Sanchez & Associates. He graduated from California State University San Marcos in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, then set his sights on CPA licensure, passing all four sections of the CPA exam in just eight months.
That same focus and drive carry into his assurance work, where accuracy and attention to detail give clients confidence in their financial information.
Outside the office, Josh enjoys golfing, walking his dog, and watching movies.
Yovani Ramirez is a Senior Accountant and Enrolled Agent with nearly a decade of experience at the firm and eight tax seasons under his belt. He specializes in business tax, serving a diverse client base that includes mom-and-pop businesses, construction companies, consulting firms, and real estate ventures. Currently pursuing his CMA license, Yovani is committed to continuous professional growth.
Beyond his client work, Yovani plays a key role in developing the next generation of tax professionals. He helps train new staff and leads continued education efforts to ensure the team stays current with evolving tax code changes.
Outside of work, Yovani keeps his mind sharp with puzzles, unwinds in the garden, and spends his evenings stargazing.
Darenh is a UCSC alumnus who graduated in 2021 with a degree in Business Management. He is a Senior Accountant at E.G. Sanchez & Associates. His main tasks include compiling financial statements, bookkeeping, and assisting Sheryl, our Business Advisory Manager, with client-specific projects. Darenh has a variety of hobbies outside of work that include bowling, singing, and investing in cryptocurrencies. One day, he hopes to be a semi-pro bowler with the vocal range of Adele.
Leah Killian is a Senior Accountant at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, where her work centers on individual and business tax returns along with tax planning and consulting. She works directly with individuals and business owners across a range of industries, handling both the compliance side and the planning conversations that come before it. Leah holds a Bachelor of Science from California State University San Marcos and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Golden Gate University, balancing graduate coursework alongside a full client load.
Outside the office, Leah enjoys reading and getting out to concerts.
Heidi Rodelo is a Special Platform Operator at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, bringing more than 25 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience. She works with clients on day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, and sales tax, with particular depth in QuickBooks. Her work also includes accounting cleanup and remediation, as well as supporting clients through sales tax and payroll audits. Two and a half decades in the books has given Heidi an eye for the discrepancies that others miss.
Outside the office, Heidi spends her time with her husband and their pets, and enjoys getting out to concerts.
Isaac is an Accountant at E.G. Sanchez & Associates. He assists with and performs various tasks such as: individual tax returns, business tax returns, and tax compilations. He is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Outside of the office, Isaac enjoys going to the gym, spending time with his family and friends, and keeping up with space news, from SpaceX launches to NASA missions.
Karla Lopez is a Staff Accountant at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, where she has been part of the tax and accounting team for two years. She has hands-on experience in tax preparation and is expanding her work within the accounting department, while supporting a range of projects across the firm. Bilingual in Spanish, Karla brings accuracy and dependability to every engagement, along with the kind of personal attention clients notice. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Western Governors University.
Outside the office, Karla enjoys spending time with her family.
Yajahira Perez is a Staff Accountant at E.G. Sanchez & Associates with experience across multiple tax seasons at a national public accounting firm, specializing in individual and business tax compliance. A CPA candidate, she is recognized for her strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage deadlines with precision. Yajahira believes effective tax accounting is built on accuracy, integrity, and proactive planning—and she is eager to support clients’ growth through strategic tax planning while developing a specialized niche within the firm’s tax practice.
Outside the office, Yajahira stays active through fitness training, hiking, and sports, and prioritizes quality time with family and friends.
Quinn Ramirez is an Accounting Assistant at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, supporting the team on day-to-day client work while pursuing a degree in accounting. Balancing coursework with hands-on experience at a working CPA firm, Quinn is building a strong foundation in accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and client service.
Outside of work and school, Quinn enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Ryan Sanchez is an Accounting Assistant at E.G. Sanchez & Associates and is currently working toward his accounting degree. He puts what he learns in the classroom to work every day, assisting the team with client engagements and gaining firsthand insight into how a full-service CPA firm serves its clients.
Outside of the office, Ryan enjoys hiking and working out.
Erik Sanchez serves as the Operations Manager at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, bringing a decade of experience in the accounting industry. He oversees day-to-day operations and works closely with team members across all departments to keep the firm running at its best.
Outside of work, Erik is an avid hiker who enjoys hitting the trails whenever he can. A die-hard San Francisco 49ers fan, he bleeds red and gold on game days.
Levi Garcia is part of the Operations team at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, supporting the firm’s Murrieta, Escondido, and Chandler offices. His versatile role spans HR support, technology coordination, and collaborating with leadership on a variety of strategic projects. From office buildouts and recruiting to keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly, Levi thrives on tackling new challenges and continuously expanding his knowledge of the firm’s administrative processes.
Outside of work, Levi enjoys spending time on the golf course.
Claudia Lopez serves as the Administrative Coordinator at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, bringing more than 20 years of comprehensive experience in client management, administrative operations, scheduling, and professional correspondence. Her background across diverse business sectors has equipped her with the ability to anticipate and meet the needs of clients with efficiency and care.
In her role, Claudia works directly with both prospective and established clients, ensuring exceptional customer service and reliable administrative support. Fully bilingual in Spanish, she effectively assists and communicates with Spanish-speaking clients. Claudia collaborates closely with all departments and is committed to delivering high-quality support to both staff and clients alike.
Outside of work, Claudia enjoys spending quality time with her family, taking trips to the beach, watching movies, cheering on her favorite sports teams, and going for relaxing drives.
Mayra Hunter is the Accounts Receivable Coordinator at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, where she manages accounts payable and receivable for clients and vendors while supporting the firm’s broader administrative operations. She brings nearly two decades of customer service experience to the role, serving as a primary point of contact for clients and vendors on billing questions.
Outside the office, Mayra enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family.
