For Clients  /  Security Measures

How we protect your information.

Your financial information is some of the most sensitive data you have. Here’s how we keep it safe, and how you can help.

Our safeguards

Security built into how we work

As a CPA firm, we are required to protect client information under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the FTC Safeguards Rule, and we hold ourselves to the confidentiality standards of our profession.

Encrypted Client Portal

Documents are exchanged through our secure client portal, encrypted in transit and at rest. Nothing you send us is uploaded to this website.

Secure Payments

Online invoice payments are handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never see or store your full card or bank account numbers.

Need-to-Know Access

Only the team members working on your engagement can access your information, and every team member is bound by professional confidentiality obligations.

Written Security Program

We maintain a written information security program covering how client data is handled, stored, retained, and securely disposed of.

Protected Firm Systems

Our systems are protected with secure sign-in, managed devices, and ongoing monitoring, and are updated regularly against new threats.

Trained Team

Our people are trained to recognize phishing and social engineering and to verify requests before sharing any information.

How you can help

Security is a team effort.

A few simple habits go a long way toward keeping your information safe.

  • Never email sensitive documents or Social Security, bank, or account numbers. Use our secure portal instead.
  • Verify before you act. If you get an unexpected request that looks like it’s from us, especially about payments or banking changes, call us at a number you know.
  • We will never ask for your passwords by phone, email, or text.
  • Use strong, unique passwords and turn on multi-factor authentication wherever it’s offered.
  • Watch for IRS scams. The IRS typically makes first contact by mail, not by phone, email, or text.
